JENNIFER ST. CLAIR
WEDDINGS... & HOSPICE
Wedding music became a large part of Jennifer's repertoire at age twelve and continues today.
Couples seem to be drawn to her romantic style, especially regarding her original compositions, as they seek unique selections to express their heartfelt love on a most blessed occasion.
Recently, she was invited to play for the Annual Hospice Remembrance Service 2007 in Jasper, Georgia with two other musicians. She shared a solo piece with the group titled: "This Keepsake of Mine". Prior to performing it, a few words of explanation seemed appropriate.
Jennifer told how late one night earlier in the year, she had been guided to sit down at her keyboard. This happens often enough for her to know she best push the RECORD button before playing lest the entire composition evaporate into the ethers! (She calls this 'Be-ing in the Divine Flow') She let her voice students listen to it the following day in hopes that a title might be assigned. Some heard angels... others were walking in a meadow by the stream... suddenly, Lindsay (age 10) exclaimed: "I know, I know!!! This Keepsake of Mine!!!!!"
Whoa!! Chills fell upon her body!!!!! Did this title come from a child or an Angel??? Little did she realize where this piece would debut a few months later.
An interesting twist to the story... a young girl about ten sat in front of Jennifer's keyboard at the hospice service with her mother and grandfather (Grandmother had passed away)... The Director of Patient Care sat in back of the large room that day, observing the response of those present. She noticed the children cried before the adults. "In my experience, it is unusual for children to respond so strongly to instrumental music. Your song touched a deep and holy place for these children and for all of us."
Plans are underway at present to produce a CD for Hospice patients and family members. Check Jennifer's website for the release date.
